San Diego, CA:  The topping out party was held at Omni Hotel San Diego recently, keeping the 32-story hotel on track for completion by April 2004.  JMI Realty is the developer and part owner of the project and Omni Hotel is also part owner.  Swinerton Builders is the general contractor and Horberger and Worstell Architects and Planners is the architect.  Montbleau and Associates are handling the interior woodwork on this building that will have 512 guest rooms and 26 luxury penthouse condominiums on its top 11 floors, overlooking the new downtown ballpark.

 


 

June 4, 2003

San Diego, CA:  The interior woodwork at Renaissance Towers in downtown San Diego was recently completed by Montbleau and Associates,  The General Contractor for this project was Roel Construction Company.

The design was created by Carrier Johnson with Michael Johnson as managing principal, Frank Wolden as principal-in-charge of design, Jef Causey as project manager, Jon Starr as project designer and Ken Kalla as project architect.  The developer of the $75 million project is L & L Center, LLC of New York City, Henry A. Lambert, president.  These two 24-story towers have over 200-units in each.

The Project Manager from Montbleau was Steve Paul and the Project Engineer was Donny Khuu.

April 24, 2003

San Diego, CA:  Montbleau and Associates has  recently completed the architectural millwork on the new corporate headquarters of ADCS, Inc. in Poway.  The custom-designed interior by Scott Cairns, principal-in-charge for Smith Consulting Architects included wood paneling throughout the building and highly detailed woodwork in the reception area and presidents office.

Based on their work at ADCS, Inc. Smith Consulting and Montbleau were both nominated for awards for the annual Woodwork Institute of California (WIC) Awards Program.  Montbleau for the Craftsmanship Award and Smith Consulting for the Award of Excellence.  Results of the awards will be announced at the Annual Conference in May.

R.G. Petty was in the general contractor with Rick Corder serving as project manager.  The project manager for the Montbleau was Dave Parker.

San Diego, CA:  Montbleau and Associates has been nominated for the Annual Woodwork Institute of California (WIC) Craftsmanship Award.  The San Diego National Bank project and the ADCS, Inc. project are both being considered for this award.

The WIC Ralph B. McClure Craftsmanship Award Program honors Woodwork Institute members for their exceptional craftsmanship and/or installation of any architectural millwork project or portion thereof.  First awarded in 1995, the craftsmanship awards are given in six categories in recognition of those that have fabricated and/or installed quality millwork conforming to Woodwork Institute Standards.  At their annual conference, the best of the craftsmanship award recipients are selected for Annual Craftsmanship Awards.


 

March 24, 2003

San Diego, CA:  Montbleau and Associates has recently completed the exquisitely designed San Diego National Bank main branch located on Kettner Boulevard.

The architectural carpentry was concentrated on the first and second floors and the building and involved 18 foot tall window frames and columns made of Honduras Mahogany.  The architecture design was the work of Maridon Interiors with Mari Kramer and Greg Wilson.

The General Contractor hired for this job was BYCOR Construction Company and Mark Gritzmaker was the Project Manager and John Correia as Field Superintendent.

The Project Management from Montbleau and Associates was handled by David Zammit and Engineering was executed by Ecli Valenzuela and Bob Geyer.


March 19, 2003

San Diego, CA:  Montbleau and Associates has recently completed the architectural woodwork for the corporate office of Golden Era Productions (GEP) a division of the Church of Scientology International (CSI), located in Gilman Hot Springs.  The highly detailed woodwork consisted of anigre wall paneling and case work, maple wall panels and wainscot paneling.

Skanska USA Building, Inc. was in charge of construction for the 39,000 square foot building designed by GEP.  Located on 500-acres this property contains film and sound studios as well as editing facilities and a film laboratory.

The Project Manager for Montbleau and Associates was Jim Carr.  Ecli Valenzuela and Pat Cassidy were Project Engineers.

 


 

March 11, 2003

San Diego, CA:  Montbleau and Associates has been awarded the laboratory furniture and equipment portion of the expansive and innovative research labs for Pfizer Inc. in La Jolla.

Whitney Dorn is the overall Project Manager for DPR Construction Company with Brian Mansell as Coordinating Project Manager and David Flynn as Site Superintendent.

The architectural design is by Kornberg Associates Architects; with Jonathan James, Farshid Mohseni and Bob Parm as principal associates.  KAI has included white maple hardwoods and stainless steel in the finishes.

The fume hoods are being provided by Lab Crafters Equipment of New York.  Montbleau and Associates is now the West Coast representative for Lap Crafters Equipment.

The Project Manager for Montbleau and Associates is David J. Zammit and the Project Engineer is Donny Khuu.


March 4, 2003

San Diego, CA:  Montbleau and Associates has been awarded the bid for architectural millwork on the American Mobile Nurses Healthcare Corporate Headquarters on High Bluff Drive in San Diego.  The Project Manager for Montbleau and Associates is Dave Parker.

The design by Howard Sneed Architecture & design architect Donald Kachur and Nathan Dean, includes cherry veneer lobby paneling, cherry desks and cherry casework.  Bill Hansen is the Project Manager for Reno Construction Company.  The Project Engineer is Ken Stender and the Project Superintendent is Fred Hucke.

 


 

February 10, 2003

Montbleau and Associates has recently been awarded the interior architectural woodwork for the Omni Ballpark Hotel.

The work on this 32 story Luxury Hotel will include fine woodwork in lobbies, ballrooms, restaurants, cafes, corridors and all public spaces.

The owners are JMI Realty with Tom Sullivan as VP and overall Project Executive.  The contractor is Swinerton Builders with Bob Cashin as overall Project Executive, Jennifer Kylstad and Paul Virjica as Project Managers and Bob Sanchez as Senior Site Supervisor.  The architect is Hornberger & Worstell, of San Francisco and the interior design team is Chhada Seimbieda Remedios of Long Beach.

Steve Paul will manage for Montbleau with Ron Montbleau and David Zammit overseeing quality control.

Montbleau and Associates recently completed the architectural woodwork for the Marriott Hotel at 11966 El Camino Real, Del Mar.  The work included fine and exotic woods for the main lobby, restaurant, bar, corridors, staircases and ballrooms.  Swinerton Builders were the general contractor on the job, Colleen Boretto was the Project Executive, Bob Robinson was the Project Manager and Tom Zeman was the Site Super.  The architects were Joseph Wong Design Associates.  Interior designs were by Studio L of Atlanta, Georgia.  JMI was the developer.  Barton Ward was the Project Manager for Montbleau and Associates.
